How Did Antwerp Shipping and Forwarding Launch Their First Collaborative Shipment with MGL?

In a testament to the power of global cooperation within the Mega Move Alliance (MMA), Antwerp Shipping and Forwarding has successfully executed their first shipment on behalf of MGL in Egypt. This operation followed the recent strategic meeting, MMA AGM 2025, in Bangkok, showcasing the growing synergy between MMA members and their commitment to excellence in project logistics.

The cargo consisted of one self-propelled used harvester machine, model T3-3042 (manufactured in 2012), with significant dimensions and weight. Measuring 13.00 M in length, 3.25 M in width, and 4.00 M in height, and weighing in at 28,000 kilograms, the machine posed typical heavy-lift transport challenges that required precision handling and route optimization.

What Was the Route and Method for Transporting This Project Cargo?

The operation commenced in Noyelles-sous-Escaut, France, where the machine was loaded and securely fastened for road transport. The over-dimensional equipment was then moved by land to the Port of Antwerp, a key European hub for international trade and project cargo shipments.

From Antwerp, the cargo was shipped via RORO vessel MV Grande Mediterraneo to Alexandria Old Port, Egypt. The use of a roll-on/roll-off vessel was particularly effective for this type of mobile equipment, ensuring safe and efficient handling throughout the maritime leg of the journey.

What Does This Milestone Represent for MMA Collaboration?

This shipment symbolizes more than just logistics execution—it reflects the collaborative potential that arises when MMA members engage through international networking events.

“This operation reinforces the trust and value of our partnerships within the project network. Working with MGL post-Bangkok event was a natural next step, and we look forward to many more.”
